Training

Become a part of Heckel, a cosmopolitan family business which is operating for more than 180 years and is held in the highest regard worldwide, and learn the art of building and repairing the highest quality bassoons, contrabassoons and Heckelphones.

At Heckel you will receive a first-class technical training in a familial working environment in which special emphasis is set on a good working atmosphere and strong team spirit. The training period is 3 years and is divided into practical training and theoretical les­sons. The practical part of the training takes place at our production facility in Wiesbaden, the theoretical les­sons are held over several weeks of block lessons at the Oscar-Walcker-School in Ludwigsburg in Baden-Wuerttemberg. The training is completed with the final Journeyman’s examination.

Your assignments:

  • Filing/ drilling/ mashining/ sawing of wood and metal
  • Sanding/ polishing of wood and metal surfaces
  • Hard and soft soldering
  • Manual work as well as work with rotating machines
  • Assembling and adjusting key mechanism
  • Finalising and assembling instruments
  • Conducting instrument maintenance and repairs

Your qualifications:

  • Passion for craftsmanship

Metal worker (m/f/d)

Your assignments:

  • Mashining/ shaping/ drilling/ sawing/ filing/ bending of metal and sheet metal
  • Hard and soft soldering
  • Manual work as well as work with rotating machines
  • Preparing technical drawings
  • Programming/ setting up/ starting/ monitoring CNC machines

Your qualifications:

  • Passion for the craftsmanship
  • Great interest in fine and precise manual work with the material metal and sheet metal
  • Completed vocational training as brass instrument maker / metal worker (m/f/d)
  • Preferably several years of working experience
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming and experience in CNC machine technology
  • Prefering working in teams

Carpenter (m/f/d)

Your assignments:

  • Mashining/ shaping/ drilling/ sawing/ filing of wood
  • Sanding/ polishing/ varnishing/ oiling of wood surfaces
  • Manual work as well as work with rotating machines
  • Preparing technical drawings
  • Programming/ setting up/ starting/ monitoring CNC machines

Your qualifications:

  • Passion for craftsmanship
  • Great interest in fine and precise manual work with wood
  • Completed vocational training as carpenter (m/f/d)
  • Preferably several years of working experience
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming and experience in CNC machine technology
  • Prefering working in teams

Grinder (m/f/d)

Your assignments:

  • Grinding/ polishing of keys and other metal parts
  • Drilling/ sawing/ filing of metal parts
  • Manual work as well as work with rotating machines

Your qualifications:
